The Fertility

(est 1972) was established by abortion rights campaigner, Dr Bertram Wainer, in 1972.  We are Melbourne’s first private clinic to provide women with confidential and safe abortion.

Today the Fertility Control Clinic is the leading private provider of pregnancy termination, family planning and reproductive health.

Our CLINIC SERVICES include:

ABORTION - Both SURGICAL ABORTION and MEDICAL ABORTION are available. Surgical abortion is performed with general or local anaesthetic and one day attendance. MEDICAL ABORTION will be available in the near future. Pregnancy termination is one of the safest, simplest and most commonly performed procedures for women.

MORNING AFTER PILL - Is also available from your pharmacy.  

CONTRACEPTION - We can discuss with you the wide range of contraceptive options to suit your particular contraceptive needs (e.g. Oral contraceptive pill, IUD, implant, injection. We can insert or remove IUDs and implants.

SEXUALLY TRANSMITTED INFECTION – We provide the latest in prevention, assessment and treatment of all STIs, including HIV, Chlamydia, Herpes, HPV and genital warts.  We also provide Cervical Cancer immunisation. Our sensitive staff and on-site pathology lab means that your privacy is assured.

PAP TEST, treatment & referral, including management of abnormal pap tests and provide Cervical Cancer immunisation.
